Dato’ Dr. Samsudin Tugiman giving the presentation

The SEAMEO Centre Directors Meeting 2014 was  held in S31 Sukumvit Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand. Directors of SEAMEO Centres and accompanying officers, invited organizations attended this meeting. ISTIC was represented by Dato’ Dr. Samsudin Tugiman (ISTIC Director) and Dato’ Dr. Sharifah Maimunah Syed Zin. The former gave a short introduction on ISTIC and its programmes and proposed to SEAMEO secretariat for collaboration in promoting IBSE in SEAMEO countries (Thailand, Myanmar and Philippines). During the networking session, ISTIC met up with SEAMEO BIOTROP (Regional  Centre for Tropical Biology in Indonesia), SEAMEO SEN (Regional Centre for Special Education, Malaysia), SEAMEO SEARCA (Regional Centre for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture, Philippines), SEAMEO QITEP in Mathematics and SEAMEO RECSAM (Regional Centre for Education in Science and Mathematics (RECSAM) which has expressed interest in participating in ISTIC’s programmes.
