MALAYSIA: ISTIC Participates in the ASEAN Technology Cooperation and Development Summit 2025

From 25 to 27 November 2025, the International Science, Technology and Innovation Center under the auspices of Unesco (ISTIC) took part in the ASEAN Technology Cooperation and Development Summit 2025, held at MITEC, Kuala Lumpur. Co-organised by UNESCO, the Diplomatic Council, the Sino-International Entrepreneurs Federation (SIEF), the Malaysian Research Accelerator for Technology and Innovation (MRANTI), NCT Group, and Intrinsic SEA, the summit brought together key actors shaping the technological and innovation landscape across ASEAN and beyond.

This high-level gathering convened government agencies, academic experts, industry leaders, and  investors from ASEAN member states and partner countries. Together, they explored the future of science, technology, and innovation (STI), identifying opportunities for collaboration and outlining strategic directions for the region’s innovation ecosystem.

ISTIC’s presence at the summit underscores its core mission to build and reinforce STI capacities across Global South countries, with a strong emphasis on partnership-driven development.

Engaging with Malaysian and ASEAN stakeholders allowed ISTIC to deepen dialogue on shared challenges, explore new avenues for cooperation, and contribute its expertise to regional innovation strategies.
