MALAYSIA : Visit from YSN-ASM to ISTIC

On 14 April, the International Science, Technology and Innovation Centre (ISTIC) under the auspices of Unesco (ISTIC) had the pleasure of welcoming a delegation from the Young Scientist Network of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia (YSN-ASM) to its offices. The delegation was led by Prof. Ts. Dr. Mai Chun Wai, Chairperson of YSN-ASM.
The session provided an opportunity for both organisations to exchange insights into their respective missions and activities.
Representatives from YSN-ASM presented their current governance structure, key programmes, and strategic priorities, highlighting their ongoing efforts to empower young scientists and strengthen Malaysia’s scientific ecosystem.
ISTIC’s Chair, Prof. ChM Dr. Mohd Basyaruddin Abdul Rahman, also addressed the delegation, providing an overview of ISTIC’s mandate, strategic focus, and global engagements. His presentation underscored ISTIC’s role as a platform for international collaboration and knowledge exchange, particularly among developing countries.


A key objective of the visit was to deepen mutual understanding and identify avenues for collaboration. Discussions focused on strengthening bilateral ties between YSN-ASM and ISTIC.
The visit concluded on a positive note, with both parties expressing strong interest in pursuing future collaborations and building a sustained partnership that contributes to the advancement of science and innovation at both regional and international levels.
