INDIA : 7th International Conference on Sustainability Education (ICSE) 2025

This week, the International Science, Technology and Innovation Centre under the auspices of UNESCO (ISTIC) took part in the 7th International Conference on Sustainability Education (ICSE), held on 17–18 September 2025 at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.
The theme of this year’s conference was Sustainability Education on Green Jobs reflecting the growing global consensus on the need to equip learners and professionals with the knowledge and skills required for a just transition towards sustainable economies and societies.
Sharizad Dahlan, Director of ISTIC, was invited as a distinguished panelist, where she delivered insights on the role of education and innovation in fostering inclusive pathways for green employment and empowering youth as future leaders of sustainable development. She contributed to two high-level plenary sessions:
Building Green Skills: Educational Challenges and Opportunities for the Global South
STEM for Sustainability: Innovating a Greener Tomorrow


ICSE 2025 brought together a wide range of stakeholders from around the world including educators, representatives from ministries of education environment, young professionals, researchers and organizations working at both national and international levels.
The objectives of this edition were to showcase best practices in integrating sustainability into education and training programs with a focus on the development of green skills.
