Climate Change<\/span> is one of the most pressing challenges of our time, disrupting ecosystems, straining economies, and<\/span> threatening the well-being of communities worldwide. Education plays a vital role<\/span> in building the knowledge, skills, and mindsets needed to understand, adapt to, and act on the climate crisis.\n

\n<\/span><\/span>
\nIn line with Article 12 of the Paris Agreement<\/a>, which underscores the importance of Climate Change Education (CCE), ISTIC is committed to making CCE a cornerstone of its work in Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) for sustainable development.<\/span>
\nTo answer this call, ISTIC is embarking on a transformative regional initiative: the Greening Education for Southeast Asia (GE4SEA) programme.<\/span><\/span><\/p> <\/div>

Greening Education for Southeast Asia (GE4SEA)<\/span><\/h2>

The Greening Education for South-East Asia (GE4SEA) Programme<\/span> is designed as a comprehensive five-year initiative aimed at revolutionizing climate change education in primary and secondary schools across Southeast Asia. This initiative seeks to operationalize the principles of the Greening Education Partnership,<\/span><\/a> established by the United Nations in 2022, making climate change education a cornerstone of regional climate adaptation strategy.<\/span><\/p> <\/div> <\/div><\/div> <\/div>

The International Science, Technology and Innovation Centre for South-South Cooperation (ISTIC)<\/span>, a center under the auspices of UNESCO, acts as an international platform offering sustainable programmes and services and augmenting sustainable development for South-South Cooperation. ISTIC is one main coordinator of the project. <\/span><\/p><\/div>

The Office for Climate Education (OCE)<\/span>, a center under the auspices of UNESCO, observing organization of the IPCC and co-coordinator of the Greening Education Partnership. OCE supports education systems and teacher communities around the world with educational resources and curricula, professional development, and communities of practices. OCE is the other main coordinator of GE4SEA. <\/span><\/p><\/div>
