TWAS Fellowships: 2010 call for applications postgraduate, postdoctoral, visiting scholar and advanced research fellowships available to scientists from developing countries
TWAS, the academy of sciences for the developing world, is now accepting applications for its postgraduate, postdoctoral, visiting scholars and advanced research fellowship programmes.
The fellowships are offered to scientists from developing countries and are tenable at centres of excellence in various countries in the South, including Brazil, China, India, Malaysia, Mexico, Pakistan and Thailand.
Eligible fields include: agricultural and biological sciences, medical and health sciences, chemistry, engineering, astronomy, space and earth sciences, mathematics and physics.

Upcoming deadlines: IACS, India - CEMB, Pakistan - ICCBS, Pakistan: 30 June. CSIR, India - CONACYT, Mexico: 1 July. Women scientists are especially encouraged to apply.

South-South Entrepreneurial Collaboration in Health Biotech
The McLaughlin-Rotman Centre for Global Health has published an article, ‘South-South Entrepreneurial Collaboration in Health Biotech’ in the journal Nature Biotechnology. The article is based on a survey of entrepreneurial collaborations among health biotech firms in developing countries. The research was lead by the McLaughlin-Rotman Centre for Global Health and was carried out in collaboration with researchers in five developing countries.

Dr. Rajendra K. Pauchauri Public Lecture “Copenhagen and Beyond”
Dr. Rajendra K. Pauchauri, Chairman of Nobel Prizing Winning Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) delivered the Public Lecture “Copenhagen and Beyond” at National Energy University Malaysia (UNITEN) on 6th January 2010. Dr. Pachauri holds the Chair of Energy Economics at UNITEN. He is also a member of the Governing Board of ISTIC. The Public Lecture was moderated by Academician Dato Ir. Lee Yee Cheong in his capacity as chairman of the governing council for the Chair of Energy Economics of UNITEN.
