The Training Workshop on Innovative Teaching & Learning of Science through Inquiry-Based Science Education (IBSE) for Science Teacher Trainers was successfully held from 25-30 October 2015 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This is the 11th training programme on IBSE organised by ISTIC in collaboration with LAMAP Foundation, France and supported by Institute of Teacher Education Malaysia (IPGM). Datuk Ee Hong, Director of Teacher Education Division, representing the Secretary-General of Ministry of Education Malaysia officiated the training workshop.
A total of 44 selected participants from developing countries comprising 10 international participants from Bangladesh, Cambodia, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kiribati, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Uganda, Vietnam and 34 participants from Malaysia participated in this workshop.

The training workshop provided the following knowledge and experience to the participants:
- Recognise the importance of inquiry-based science education (IBSE) in teaching science;
- Recognise the philosophy and ten principles of La main à la pâte;
- Experience the process of inquiry-based science teaching and learning; and
- Develop an action plan for disseminating and sharing of experiences on La main à la pâte with colleagues and teachers in their respective home countries.

The participants were introduced to LAMAP foundation, philosophy of hands-on and the movement to make science education interesting. The workshop comprised lectures, hands-on activities, preparation and presentation of microteaching based on philosophy and principles of La main à la pâte. During this workshop the participant were given the opportunities to do the experiment and hands-on activities on natural disaster (earthquake and tsunami), astronomy and earth science. Three facilitators conducted the training. They were Dr. David Wilgenbus and Mr. Henri Plandé from La main à la pâte Foundation and Dr. Koay Suan See from SEAMEO Regional Centre for Education in Science and Mathematics (RECSAM).
