Training Workshop on Developing Leadership Talents of Women in Science, Technology and Innovation
18-22 July 2016, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

The above workshop was organised with the support of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI). It was mainly designed to train participants on the elements of leadership, communication, and entrepreneurship. 25 participants from 15 countries comprising S&T professionals from middle to high level management of research centres and universities participated. Of these 4 were from Malaysia. Other countries represented were Algeria, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Jordan, Lebanon, Nigeria, Pakistan, Palestine, Qatar, Sri Lanka, Sudan and Syria. Guests included representatives of foreign embassies in Malaysia.

The Deputy Secretary-General (Science) of Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, Associate Professor Dr. Ramzah Dambul, representing the Honorable Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Datuk Seri Panglima Madius Tangau officiated the opening while Dato’ Dr. Samsudin Tugiman, ISTIC Governing Board chairman gave the welcome address.

The training workshop has enabled participants to enhance their own leadership talents, knowledge, skills and attitudes as well as their confidence. The workshop also provided an opportunity for networking among participants.
